How are New Yorkers engaging with and experiencing nature?
Nature Justice in Cities 2026 Panelists: Véronëque Ignace, MPH; Hogyeum Evan Joo, MS; and Julia Monk.
Two years ago I organized a virtual moderated panel titled Nature Justice in Cities with experts in urban wildlife, stormwater infrastructure, and tree equity. The event was well-attended.
The second Nature Justice in Cities will be held on April 13th at 4 PM in person. The current panel of experts will discuss how New Yorkers interact with nature in parkland, describe community efforts to monitor hyperlocal flooding, and explain how our non-human neighbors use microhabitats throughout the city.
If you are in NYC, I hope you will attend the event. Register here. Or, forward this post to someone in NYC who is interested in the experience of nature.
