How are New Yorkers engaging with and experiencing nature?
Nature Justice in Cities 2026 Panelists: Véronëque Ignace, MPH; Hogyeum Evan Joo, MS; and Julia Monk.
Two years ago I organized a virtual moderated panel titled Nature Justice in Cities with experts in urban wildlife, stormwater infrastructure, and tree equity. The event was well-attended.
The second Nature Justice in Cities will be held on April 13th at 4 PM in person at 79 Washington Square East, 10003. The current panel of experts will discuss how New Yorkers interact with nature in parkland, describe community efforts to monitor hyperlocal flooding, and explain how our non-human neighbors use microhabitats throughout the city.
If you are in NYC, I hope you will attend the event. Registration is required. Or, forward this post to someone in NYC who is interested in the experience of nature.
