I want to write a book! During the Covid lockdown I began writing and speaking about the relationships Black New Yorker have with trees and forested landscapes.
My goal is to manifest a book deal by refining the book, proposal, writing a sample chapter, and sharing my idea through talks using my desired book title, “Spark Trees: Black New Yorkers’ Arboreal Legacy.”
Last fall I spoke in the Torrey Botanical Society lecture series. The presentation was recorded and is now available on the Society’s Youtube channel. Watch the talk.
